Day 6 (5-16-09) Second Free Day

Today was another day where we had a slow start but a long day. I woke up around noon today and then edited and posted some photos until we had our group meeting at 5:30. After our group meeting a small group of us decided to go out and get dinner and then go visit a few museums because today all of the museums were free to enter. After having dinner at a small restaurant we headed out to the Pantheon. This was once again a marvelous sight to see but we truly missed having Paul there because it was very difficult to piece things together, especially when most of the descriptions were in Italian. After this museum we visited another one, which the name is escaping me, and then we visited the National Museum of Rome. This was a great museum to see because it had a lot of architecture along with a lot of sculptures. It was great to see once again how all of the materials the Romans were using were being blended together. It was also great to see some of the sculptures and to read, yes there were English descriptions, what they were about and what they depicted. After this we hiked back up to our hotel and we settled in for the night. It was a day that may seem like not much was done but I can assure anyone that we had a long day and that we all have never felt our feet hurt so much before.
